Cooking Up a Small Settlement for Jerome Murdough, Rikers Island Victim

SETTLEMENT WAS REACHED regarding a homeless Marine Corps veteran who was baked to death in a Rikers Island solitary jail cell - $2.25m. I told you The Cochran Firm frauds would never take the wrongful death of Jerome Murdough case before a jury. Lawyers demanded $25m but settled for less than 10 percent of the demand - then the family's attorney congratulated the defendants for being "willing" to pay that much.

Attorney Derek Sells, who represented the family, said the agreement was “a sign that the administration is willing to work with people mistreated by city agencies and officials.”

Murdough's family members were not told the veteran was dead by any jail or city officials - they found out from an AP reporter who called them for a statement WEEKS LATER. Murdough's death would probably have been covered-up like Larry Neal's is had it not been revealed by AP. This was likely to avoid a wrongful death lawsuit. Luckily for defendants, Murdough's family contracted The Cochran Firm frauds as their wrongful death attorneys. Happy Veterans Day.

A white man who was traumatized by solitary confinement (not baked to death) was awarded a $15.5 million settlement. During the time Stephen Slevin, 58, spent in solitary confinement at Doña Ana County Detention Center, his mental and physical health deteriorated so severely that he spent hours on end rocking back and forth beneath a blanket, his attorney told the Los Angeles Times. "Slevin even wiggled a tooth loose so he could yank it out," Matt Coyte said. Compare Slevin's settlement to Murdough's.

Next, we wait to see what settlement, if any, is reached for the wrongful deaths of Chavis Carter and Walmart shopper, John Crawford. Their black families also contracted with The Cochran Firm, because they did not know any better.

Johnny Cochran's Legacy Misused

12 points proving injustice 

1)  Johnnie Cochran was one of the world's most successful and celebrated attorneys. He helped to exonerate numerous defendants and won significant courtroom victories for victimized minority clients, including police victims' survivors. Cochran won an acquittal for O.J. Simpson in 1995. He entered a subpoena to demand FBI records in defense of Geronimo ji-Jaga (formerly "Elmer Gerard Pratt"), the former minister of defense for the Black Panther Party. Thanks in large part to Cochran, ji-Jaga's conviction was vacated in 1997 after the innocent man had spent 27 years in prison, eight of them in solitary confinement. Cochran said that helping to exonerate ji-Jaga was the most satisfying achievement of his career. It appears that ji-Jaga was a political prisoner set up by CoIntelPro.

2)  “COINTELPRO (an acronym for Counter Intelligence Program) was/is a series of covert, and often illegal, projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting domestic political organizations. COINTELPRO tactics included discrediting targets through psychological warfare, planting false reports in the media, smearing through forged letters, harassment, wrongful imprisonment, extralegal violence and assassination.

3)  Covert operations under COINTELPRO took place between 1956 and 1971; however, the FBI has used covert operations against targeted individuals and domestic political groups since its inception. The FBI's stated motivation at the time was ‘protecting national security, preventing violence, and maintaining the existing social and political order’” (Wikipedia and other sources). The "social order" was and still is dominance by white elitists. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and many people who protested environmental pollution, the Vietnam War, and systemic racism were targeted by COINTELPRO, especially members of the Black Panther Party. Most of COINTELPRO's budget went to suppressing African Americans' quest for civil and human rights. Although whites and Jews as well as Native Americans and Puerto Ricans were also surveilled, one of the FBI program's main goals was to "prevent the rise of a black Messiah,"

4)  Johnnie Cochran manifested signs of becoming a “black Messiah.” Cochran experienced numerous successes against police departments in wrongful death and brutality cases, and he had bigger plans. In 2002, Cochran announced plans he and others made to gather a "dream team" of lawyers to sue the United States and major corporations for slavery and Jim Crow reparations. In preparation, he gave free legal services to claimants who planned to sue for damages related to the Tulsa, Oklahoma 1921 riots (Black Wall Street). Perhaps to raise capital for the reparations lawsuit, Cochran sold part ownership of his law firm to some Southern whites, then fell ill with an inoperable brain tumor and died on May 28, 2005.

5)  Who would make better CoIntelPro agents than lawyers operating falsely under a name that people trust like Johnnie Cochran's? CoIntelPro's agenda was/is to keep wealth out of blacks' hands, spy on communication, and take other offensive actions to maintain the "status quo." Lawyers do not have to spy on their clients; we answer whatever they ask, thinking our communication is protected by client/attorney privilege. We also believe that lawyers who contract with us in civil action cases work diligently because they are paid on a contingency basis.

6)  The Cochran Firm, under the new partners, are repeatedly sued for fraud and racism. Most lawsuits against The Cochran Firm have been unsuccessful despite an abundance of evidence presented by plaintiffs. In "Neals v. The Cochran Firm," the law firm had no defense to allegations that it contracted to represent survivors of Larry Neal but did absolutely no work on the case during 11 of Tennessee's 12-month statute of limitations for personal injury lawsuits. The case involved a mentally ill African American man who was secretly arrested and killed in Memphis Shelby County Jail in 2003. Having no defense to the Neals' lawsuit for fraud and malpractice, The Cochran Firm falsely declared its Georgia offices "nonexistent," and Georgia Superior Court as well as federal court agreed with them. The "nonexistent"Cochran Firm law office in Atlanta had other cases before those very courts at that time. The CochranFirm's Atlanta office had television commercials, billboards, Internet ads, and MARTA ads offering its services to Georgians while declaring itself nonexistent in court. Who are those masked men and women?

7)  Dozens of former clients, attorneys, and a partnering law firm have sued The Cochran Firm, alleging fraud, racism, sex discrimination, and/or malpractice. Randy McMurray, a former partner, sued the firm for RICO Act racketeering. Lawsuits against The Cochran Firm are published in legal journals, but reports about lawsuits against the firm seldom reach the public. That is because mainstream media is apparently complicit in The Cochran Firm frauds against Africans in America, Native Americans, and Latinos. So are many other entities, such as those that continually ignore The Cochran Firm's proved duplicity and award the firm and its lawyers high honors that are not deserved.

8)  The Cochran Firm saves government entities and corporations billions annually some years by defrauding its own clients in civil actions. For example, in the case of John Crawford, III's fatal shooting by police in an Ohio Walmart store, The Cochran Firm only demanded $75,000. Johnnie Cochran may have had doubts about his new partners' honesty in criminal law matters. Former Cochran Firm attorney Shawn Chapman Holley revealed that Cochran made his partners agree to never undertake criminal law cases (perhaps because of their private prison investments or connections).

9)  Legal Victories: Under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Article 19 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this writer has the right to notify legal consumers in minority communities about The Cochran Firm fraud against them, although efforts to do so are illegally censored. Unfortunately, consumer protection agencies, including the BBB, apparently participate in nondisclosure. The BBB refused to take a consumer report from Mary Neal when the law firm claimed falsely that it had no law offices in Georgia. Either The Cochran Firm has an Atlanta office, or it engages in false advertising. Yet the FCC and FTC do nothing to stop their ads. Mary Neal's reports about TheCochran Firm fraud have been followed by intimidation and endangerment, home burglaries, and financial persecution against the writer and her family that are thus far refused investigation and legal remedy. Meanwhile, the list of lawsuits against The Cochran Firm alleging malpractice continue to grow.

10)  The Cochran Firm claimed in Georgia Superior Court that the Atlanta law office was NOT a CochranFirm office and had no association with other Cochran Firm offices. The Cochran Firm further claimed when sued by the Neals in federal court that it had NO law offices in the City of Memphis. Nevertheless, The Cochran Firm is now fighting in California after lawsuit by Randy McMurray to be considered ONE law firm with multiple offices across the nation, just like it proclaims on its website and all its ads and according to its representation to the Neal family. The identity and operations of that law firm are shrouded in secrecy. The Cochran Firm's identity changes according to whether one is a legal consumer seeking services or a former client planning to sue the firm for fraud.

11)  Johnnie Cochran's legacy is misused to defraud his people. I urge you to stay informed about what is done, or not done, regarding the wrongful death cases of Chavis Carter and John Crawford, III. People who have already lost close relatives to violence by police or corrections officers do not deserve to be further victimized by The Cochran Firm frauds like the Neal family was. Cover-up Regarding Jerome Murdough Foiled by AP

There was a time when I thought we could negotiate a confidential settlement regarding the secret arrest and wrongful death of Larry Neal. I assumed the government and The Cochran Firm would not want it known that a mentally ill heart patient who was a U.S. citizen was killed and his survivors were defrauded by a law firm carrying Johnnie Cochran's name. We initially believed Larry's death was accidental. Not only was Larry Neal's death NOT accidental, but authorities do not seem to mind if the whole world knows that mentally and physically disabled Americans are secretly jailed and killed and that such deaths are covered up. It happens regularly. Apparently, it happened to Jerome Murdough.

Jerome Murdough was a 56-year-old mentally challenged veteran who was BAKED to death in Riker's Island in February 2014, but his family was not told for weeks. Finally, AP notified Murdough's family, not prison authorities or his attorney. The prison reportedly informed Murdough's state-appointed attorney three days after his demise. Perhaps officials and the lawyer had agreed that Murdough's family must never to be told about their relative slow-roasting to death in a Riker's Island prison cell.

Like Larry Neal, Jerome Murdough had suffered numerous previous arrests due to his mental illness before his fatal incarceration. It is likely that officials had contact information for Murdough's relatives in his file. But officials withhold information about mentally ill citizens' deaths sometimes to spare themselves bad publicity and save money on wrongful death lawsuits. That is why AIMI recommends that families physically search jails when looking for missing loved ones. Merely calling authorities and filing a missing person report are insufficient, as police lied when Larry Neal was "missing" for 18 days in 2003. He was secretly incarcerated throughout that time. Larry died in Memphis Shelby County Jail, deprived of his heart medications and likely because of other inexcusable abuses of power. The Neals were NEVER told the circumstances of Larry Neal's death, and we are censored and persecuted for asking.

If not for AP contacting Murdough's relatives, Murdough might have been "missing" forever and presumed dead. That was the likely plan. If only The Cochran Firm had not pretended (under contract) to handle Larry Neal's wrongful death and negligence civil actions, the Neals would have contacted media companies much sooner than WE DID to notify the public about Larry's secret murder. The Cochran Firm swore us to silence immediately regarding Larry's death, which we did not recognize at the time as being a coldblooded, premeditated murder. By the time we discovered The Cochran Firm had secretly withheld our lawsuits while Tennessee's statute of limitations ran, nearly a year had passed, and mainstream media had obviously agreed to withhold reports about the "wrongful death of Larry Neal" (Google it). That is still the case today. As odd as it seems, Murdough's mom and sister (pictured below) are lucky. They do not have to investigate and report Murdough's death themselves. Mother Jones reports: 

(1) The United States operate 1,800 prisons and 3,000 jails. Like Alcatraz, they aren't about rehabilitation. They're about punishment.

(2) 80,000 people are held in solitary confinement every year.

(3) As many as half of all sexual assaults in prisons are carried out by prison guards.

(4) One fourth of the people incarcerated on Earth are incarcerated in the United States.

(5) We have 2.3 million Americans behind bars . . . they’re held at ADX Florence, Pelican Bay, and Rikers Island, where an inmate recently baked to death in his cell. Baked to death.

Rikers Island is the nation’s second-largest jail system with 12,000 inmates. A whopping 40 percent are mentally ill, and a third of them suffer from serious mental problems.

Jerome Murdough was arrested after seeking shelter from harsh weather in New York in February. The meds he was administered for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia made the former Marine more susceptible to heat. One can only hope that Murdough was asleep as he slow-roasted in a solitary jail cell at Riker's.

Condolences to Murdough's family and close friends. Hundreds of thousands of people of all races and ages who were labeled as being mentally ill were roasted in Nazi ovens before WWII. Our apologies for taking so long to decriminalize mental illness in the USA and give Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill. Our messages to the public and politicians are censored. Human rights advocates at AIMI hope that more care is applied in the future to ensure the safety of America's most vulnerable citizens and that victims and survivors are given due process instead of cover-ups when the system fails.

Citizen: One who by birth or naturalization owes a debt of loyalty to a country and is due protection BY that country (certain exemptions apply). Murdough showed his loyalty to the USA by enlisting in the military, but his protection as a homeless veteran was missing in action. Larry's family shows loyalty by enlisting in military service and paying taxes; however, we were told by federal court order that whatever was done to prevent lawsuit against Shelby County Jail was "immaterial." Certain exemptions apply no matter who is in the White House or over the Justice Department.

I knew the message was from stalkers, but I called the number. A Caucasian man answered the phone and said his phone was hacked and sending out Tango messages to a thousand people. He claimed that he just sent me a message to let us know. I told him I did not receive his message explaining that. He said, "Well, I must have sent it to somebody else."

Who believes that anyone would attempt to send an explanation to a thousand people about their phone being hacked? Stalkers know lots about programming computers, but they have no common sense. Neither do the people for whom they work.

Cochran Firm frauds, don't even THINK about "representing" Murdough's survivors in a wrongful death civil action. Whatever other attorney handles this case, good luck. Know that I will be watching you. Every day.
